Contraindications and Precautions
Important:
Under duty of care, a newly measured custom-made garment should always be fitted by the prescribing clinician (or their delegate). This ensures patient safety, and any required alterations will be covered under the first fit guarantee.
Precautions
- Poor cardiac function or unstable cardiac conditions
- Arterial insufficiency ABPI 0.5 – 0.8 (compression 15 – 20 mm Hg)
- Renal insufficiency
- Lymphorrhoea
- Severe peripheral neuropathy
- Pulmonary oedema
Contraindications
- Congestive cardiac failure
- Severe arterial insufficiency ABPI <0.5
- Cutaneous infections
- Dermatitis in acute exudative stages
- Deep skin folds
